The meeting for this, the inaugural gathering for the Laureates of Pathology, will be Savannah, Georgia.
In early February 1733, James Edward Oglethorpe and his group of 114 settlers arrived from England. They initially landed in Beaufort, South Carolina, and then traveled eighteen miles up the Savannah River to what is now known as the City of Savannah.
The city is rich in history and provides a delightful setting for this unique educational event. With wonderful restaurants, beautifully manicured downtown and rows of restored antebellum homes, Savannah also has wonderful views of the Savannah River. An increasingly popular tourist destination, Savannah will be joy to visit.
Amongst the many cultural attractions available, the Savannah Film festival will start on the last night of the course, October 29th, further enhancing this educational and cultural experience.
